Berkshire Diamond | Medium Dry | Sharp, medium dry. Slight Mandarin flavour off the side of the tongue. Catches nicely at the back of the throat. Bit on the sour side for me, but others may like it. | ★★★★★ | 4.5% |

Bradfield | Medium Dry | Slightly sparkling. Strong yeast on the nose on opening but fades after pouring to a slightly citrus sparkling smell. Taste wise, again a bit citrus, not a huge apple taste but it's there. Slight lime sourness but not overpowering. Nice and easy to drink and quite refreshing. Could go well with fish because of the citrus but probably wouldn't stand up to stronger flavours. Interesting but probably won't buy more | ★★★★★ | 6% |

Tutts Clumper | Medium Dry | Ok, this is not a cider for the weak of liver at a meaty 8.5% (any higher and it's technically wine apparently) Amber, clear and very sparkling. Big rich fermented apple nose. Oh that is a dangerous taste. You don't get a hint of the strength at all. It's mellow, slight caramel and slightly sweet for a medium dry, I'd say more medium. Lots of apple, almost apple pie but very subtle. Very little tannin and it only really kicks in if you swirl it around your mouth. Nice long juicy and fruity aftertaste. That is a really tip top little number. I would say perfect for a session but it would be a very short one. I'm a little bit confused by the label which says it's 'chaptalized' which is adding sugar before fermentation, but elsewhere on the label it says no added sugar. Tasting that good, they are forgiven. | ★★★★★ | 8.5% |

Convent Revival | Medium Dry | Made from apples collected from the orchard of St John the Baptist and former convent, Windsor Light golden, clear and and ever so slight effervescent Unsubtle nose, not of incense as you'd expect but of farmyard, slightly tart apples with the usual slight phenol from Tutts Clump. Not bad. Nice flavour and fairly complex. Slight tartness initially with a rich fermented apple flavour. Mellows quickly but lets out a bit of tannin keeping it in the Medium Dry range. Slightest hint of vanilla in there. Flavour hangs around in a slightly tart aftertaste which leaves a nicely refreshing feeling. Very interesting and well worth a go. Get it while you can as it's a limited edition. | ★★★★★ | 6% |

Fuji | Medium Dry | A limited edition single variety (Fuji surprisingly) cider. Fuji apples are Japan's number one eating apple variety, so what kind of cider does it make? Light golden yellow, clear and sparkling. You get a huge waft of fresh apple blossom when you open it, but stick your nose in there and you get quite a sharp nose, almost spirit like. Oh a very interesting and different flavour with a very complex profile. Initial hit is indeed sharp slightly citrussy which quickly mellows a little bit to a very full well rounded mouthful with a lovely fresh eating apple taste. Lots of flavour there that fills the cheeks with little or no tannin. That slight acidity carries through to a long tingling little aftertaste where you get a bit of the floral notes poking through. This is well worth trying while you can get it, and if this is an example then Fuji well deserves to be a standard cider making apple, it would be very popular, especially if they made it slightly sweeter. | ★★★★★ | 6% |

Jazz | Medium Dry | Jazz apples are a cross between Royal Gala and Braeburn.
light straw-yellow with a tint of green, slight haze with a decent fizz. Has the usual Tutts Clump sharp slightly sour nose. Lots of sharp slightly tart fruit initially which mellows slightly to leave a decent catch at the back of the throat. Decent long aftertaste, staying quite sharp all the way. Very different flavour as this is the only cider that uses Jazz as a cider apple. Certainly different. Can't say it's easy to drink as it is quite sharp and doesn't quite mellow enough in my opinion, but if you like the sharp ciders then you'll probably like it as it does have a very nice flavour. | ★★★★★ | 5.5% |

Katy | Medium Sweet | Light golden, clear and flat. Very sweet honey and floral (elderflower to me) nose, bordering on the sickly sweet. Taste is nowhere near as sweet as I expected to be honest. Initial hit is slightly floral, but that moves to a lovely clean fresh apple juice flavour. No tannin to speak of and has a nice long medium aftertaste keeping the strong apple flavour all the way through. This is a very nice medium sweet cider without falling into the sweet category. Too sweet for me personally but the flavour is delicious and if you like your ciders slightly on the sweeter side I'd say this is a good one to go for as I don't think it would go sickly very quickly. I'd drink it well chilled though as I think the sweeter ones are helped by that, the chilling does tend to knock off the sweetness a bit. | ★★★★★ | 5% |

Kingston Black | Medium Dry | Dark golden almost brown colour, hazy with a slight fizz. Big nose, lots of apple and a bit of honey. Very dry and astringent though flavour wise. Earthy to the extent of mushroomy at the start, it softens a little bit to give some pear drop in the flavour. Lots of tannin which is long lasting into the aftertaste. Doesn’t leave it hugely mouth watering. I'd call it more dry than medium dry I'd say. | ★★★★★ | 5.5% |

Legend | Medium Dry | Amber, ever so slight haze, very slightly sparkling on the tongue. Nice straight apple nose wih a bit of citrus and as usual for Tutts Clump, that slight phenol in the background. Crisp dry cider flavour with a fair amount of fruit and green apple skins. Little bit of a hint of Orange in the background and the whole thing is slightly acidic. Slight tannin, but nothing major which makes it a decent well balanced cider. Yes not a bad cider at all. Quite a robust flavour which would stand up well to food. | ★★★★★ | 5% |

Coronation Medium Dry | Medium Dry | Special limited edition produced for the coronation - God save the king.
Straw yellow hazy and a decent fizz. Farmyard cider nose with a small of phenol but nothing nasty. Lovely flavour. Lots of fermented apple with a fair amount of oak and straw.. Starts out fairly mellow, but then a bit of sharpness pushes through to a nice long lingering aftertaste. This cider goes down very easily and is cracking chilled on a hot summer's evening. Has a bit more of the traditional cider profile than many of the medium dry session ciders so well worth trying. I'm sure Charles would appreciate it. | ★★★★★ | 4.5% |

Oldbury | Dry | Light golden colour, hazy and flat. Traditional cider nose but slightly tart. not unpleasantly so. Very sour dry taste initially but with a lot of fruit. What’s strange is that this sourness disappears very quickly to leave a very mellow fruity flavour with a bit of tartness in the back of the throat. The only strange thing is you eventually get what others as described as a 'solventy' tang which sounds dreadful, but is just odd. I'm really not sure where that comes from, but don't be too put off by it. I still found it actually quite drinkable and moreish. I don’t normally like the tart/sour ciders but this one was actually quite nice. | ★★★★★ | 5.5% |

Perry | Medium Dry | Light golden yellow, hazy and flat. Sharp tart Perry pear nose. Perry pears are much more tart than pears you eat and many Perrys if they use perry pears are sweetened. This one is most certainly not. Very dry slightly tart and astringent initially but loads of perry fruit flavour. The dryness goes quickly with a wash of water in the mouth and you're left with a tart grab at the back of the throat with lots of fruit flavour. That fruit flavour is slightly reminiscent of pear drops but not totally artificial. The aftertaste is nice and long and remains sharp with a bit of woodiness in there. Good little perry, especially if you like them slightly tart. Tutts clump label it as Medium Dry, but it's very much on the dry side in my opinion. | ★★★★★ | 6% |

Reading Gold | Medium Dry | Light golden, slightly hazy with a little short lived sparkle. Usual Tutts Clump nose, fermented apple with a slight Phenol tint. Good rich flavour of well fermented apple. Lots of fruit, bit of green apple skin, bit of straw and a slight bittersweet sharpness. Not a huge amount of Tannin but there isa little bit there to balance it all out. Nice long fairly dry aftertaste, but it does leave you refreshed in the end. Yes, not a bad little cider this one. Quite a strong flavour so would go well with food. | ★★★★★ | 5.5% |

Special Reserve | Dry | Golden clear (but mind the sediment), slightly sparkling As usual with Tutts Clump very heavy with the apple skin nose which sadly smells rather chemically to me. Tart dry with lots of tannin and that slight chemical taste from the skins. The big taste goes quickly leaving a tingle on the tongue and a long pleasant dryish aftertaste leaving a good mouth wetness. Lots of fruit, but a fair amount of tartness from the crab apples. Can’t say it’s the easiest to drink but it’s ok. | ★★★★★ | 6% |

Rhubarb | Medium Sweet | Golden yellow with a definite hint of pink (possibly peach), slightly hazy and sparkling Strong rhubarb nose initiall, with a fair amount of pear drop and phenols mixed in. Settles down eventually and isn't that bad The taste is obviously Rhubarb but again that phenol/pear drop on the side. Taste is quite in your face and makes me think of rhubarb and custards but without the custard. Nicely carbonated from the bottle conditioned that lifts the flavour nicely and makes it refreshing. Long lingering refreshing aftertaste. Very drinkable. A bit more in your face than many of the rhubarb ciders and it would be interesting how it tastes without the carbonation. | ★★★★★ | 4% |

Ridgeway | Medium Sweet | Golden, slightly hazy and flat Usual Tutts clump nose, tart, lots of apple skins, which gives a slight chemically edge. To be fair it does have quite a bit of apple as well. Interesting initial flavour. Slightly tart which balances out the sweetness, but then it goes to a nice long lingering sweet aftertaste with the tartness in the background still at the back of the throat. Good deep fresh desert apple flavour. Gets nicer the more you drink of it and you get used to the sharpness. Tartness is a bit off putting for me and leaves me with that dry teeth feeling which I personally don’t like. Perfectly drinkable if you don’t mind that mind | ★★★★★ | 4% |

Route 17 | Medium Dry | Pale yellow, slightly cloudy and sparkling Apple nose with a slight sharpness and yeastyness. Funk as some call it. Big fruity flavour. Plenty of apple pulp in there with a slight sherbet note. Slight tannin and the usual Tutts Clump farmyard/straw note with a touch of phenols. Not bad at all and at 4.5% would do well as a session cider. | ★★★★★ | 4.5% |

Royal Berkshire | Medium Sweet | Light golden, clear, sparkling. Fruity, musty nose. Interesting flavour and a bit different from the norm which is not easy to describe, it's not quite the usual apple flavour. Fair amount of green skins, crisp, fruity and slightly tart, which balances the sweetness well. Slight tannin with a little bittersweet edge, leads to a nice lingering aftertaste with a good mouth wetness. Very refreshing and fairly easy to drink. You can taste the alcohol though which may stop you in your tracks. Well worth giving this one a go. | ★★★★★ | 7% |

Rum Cask | Medium Dry | Light golden, clear and sparkling. Lovely big deep fermented apple nose with a touch of phenol and of course a touch of rum. Hmm, interesting flavour and quite complex. The initial hit is a strong rich cider flavour with rum and a fair amount of old musty wood in there but it lightens nicely as it settles in the mouth leaving a refreshing light wood aftertaste with hints of citrus. There's a decent amount of tannin in there. A nice little complex cider and goes down nicely. I think a lot of that comes from the crab apples in there that gives it the tannin and the lingering sharpness. It's not overly rum flavoured these days (perhaps they need new barrels?) but it's in there and ranks up there with other cask matured ciders. | ★★★★★ | 4.5% |

|
Scrumpy | Medium Dry | Golden yellow, slightly hazy flat. Slightly tart cidery apple nose. A little bit of tartness initially which gives way quickly to a mellow rich ever so slightly sour apple flavour with a bit of tobacco in the aftertaste. The tartness is well balanced as is the Tannin. There's a little bit but not as much as in many scrumpies. I personally prefer that and find it easier to drink. Yup, a good little scrumpy. | ★★★★★ | 5.5% |

Traditional Farmhouse | Medium Dry | Golden, clear and long lived sparkling Rich sharp fermented apple nose Nice sharp acidic slightly tart kick initially that mellows slightly to give a slightly vanilla edge to the rich fruit. Long slightly gooseberry acidic refreshing aftertaste, but there is a bit of sweetness in there to balance out. I think there is some tannin in there but not a huge amount. That must rank as one of the best eastern style ciders out there and certainly the best of the Tutts Clump range IMO. Its refreshing as well as having an interesting flavour pallet and is not a challenge as some eastern style are. | ★★★★★ | 6% |
