Amber, clear and sparkling Bottle conditioned so a strong yeasty nose on opening - let that dissipate if you’re not a big fan, it goes fairly quickly. You then get a nice creamy nose with a slightly sweet apple aroma. Oh that’s crisp and dry. Has the texture indeed of an unsalted crisp on the tongue, and I find it quite pleasant. Minerally and Not as astringent or tannic as most dry ciders, it’s just simple and dry. It’s the kind of dryness you get from many single variety apples but this has a slightly more interesting and rounded flavour The dryness quickly mellows to give a good bittersweet mouthfeel and a mid length aftertaste leaving a nice crisp refreshing mouth feel. Very nice indeed as straight dry ciders go. Could happily drink a fair few of those as it lacks that tannic astringency that many have. |
