Cider with Evans

Seidr y Mynydd

Seidr y Mynydd (Cider of the mountain) are a producer based in Cydweli (Kidwelly) in South Wales. They've won the Welsh Perry and Cider Society Cider of Wales three times in 2015, 2017 & 2018 They only came across my radar thanks to John 'Nant' my next door neighbour back in Wales picking them up from a farm shop and leaving them with my mum. A well received gift as I thought they were both quite decent.

Their cider uses the Keeving method as used in Brittany to produce a slightly sweeter cider with a lower alcohol rating.

Sadly no direct online shop, but you can get them from various online off-licences if you look. The link above is to their twitter feed

Medium

Medium

Light golden, slightly hazy & flat.

Slightly yeasty nose but lots of fermented apple.

Deep farmyard apple flavour. Lots of juicy apple with a slight honey hint. No tannin to speak of but a nice long lingering fruity aftertaste.

This is made using the Keeving method so is slightly sweeter than many mediums, but that's fine IMO

Nice and refreshing this one and would be lovely on a hot summers afternoon.
