Cider with Evans

Robinsons Cider

Another new cider maker to me, and I picked up my bottles at the cider museum in Hereford. Based near Tenbury Wells not far from Hereford, they limit themselves to just 3 ciders; 2 in bottles and one on draught. You can get the bottles by mail order.

Two cracking little ciders that are well worth trying. I think I prefer the Medium as it has a deeper flavour to it, but both are well worth a go.

Golden,clear and sparkling

Sweet nose with a bit of honey. Nice and refreshing

Dry, quite a lot of tannin with quite a strong bittersweet flavour and a strong taste of apple skins. Fair amount of residual sweetness coming out as a slight toffee flavour, but has a decent sharpness to balance everything out. Dry aftertaste but leaves you refreshed

Yes a very good cider and easy to drink for a dry. Quite refreshing and not too much tannin. Despite saying that it's quite dry but not over dry. I’d recommend it.

Medium

Medium

A keeved cider where the fermentation is halted early by dropping the temperature so it's sweetened with the unfermented cider. Golden clear and sparkling.

Big rich nose with a hint of caramel.

Cracking. Big mouthful of appley flavour with a fair amount of Tannin but not over the top. Caramel, hints of wood and leather, with a long sweetish aftertaste. Reminds me a bit of an apple brandy. A very interesting flavourful cider. I don't think you'd get bored of this in a hurry
