Cider with Evans

Kentish Pip

Based near Canterbury, I had quite a few of theirs while I was down there on holiday. They have a very nice cider barn setup at their HQ that's well worth a visit, but they do do mail order as well.

Craftsman

Medium Dry

Light golden in colour, clear and slightly sparkling

Rich green apple and pulpy honeysuckle nose with a hint, just a hint of wood.

Nice dry acidic flavour up front, leaving minerals on your teeth but that’s very short lived. Solid pulpy flavour in the middle with hints of tannin and spice leading to a refreshing aftertaste with just a hint of leather.

Very refreshing and good little cider with plenty of body. Cracking little session cider.

High Diver

Medium Dry

Light golden, clear and sparkling.

Strong fresh tart nose. Lots of green apple and sharp.

Oh cracking flavour. Deep rich, full of fresh tart acidic green apple but rounded off with a bit of honey and some oak wood. It’s a blend of Cox and Bramley and the freshness bursts out. Curiously to me the combination gives it a slightly pear aftertaste, but that is not bad as it’s lovely and refreshing.

Cracking little cider this. Perfect interesting medium dry profile that you could drink lots of. Shame it comes in small bottles.
