Blend 23 | Medium | Copper colour, very slightly hazy flat. Big cider nose, bit earthy and farmyard but very pleasant.
They label it as a medium, but I found it had a fair amount of dryness and tannin so I'd mark it as a medium dry I must confess.
It was though very mouth watering and thirst quenching so not astringent.
I get a hit of strawberries with a bit of spice which then mellows to a long dry cider taste, with a slight sourness (other reviewers call it 'funky'). Very nice actually for a dryish cider, well rounded. I gave it a review of 3/5 but it's bordering on 4 to be honest. | ★★★★★ | 6% |

Yowler | Medium | Golden yellow clear with slight fizz. Sweet toffee apple nose with slight hint of clove. Bittersweet with lots of flavour. Nice and sharp but I thought a slight Brie cheese tone which smooths out the aftertaste a bit. Very good. I thought it was on the dryinsh side of medium I must say. On draft:
Slightly hazy and flat Less pronounced nose, pretty straight cider Flavour is more butterscotch than sharp although there is a bit of sharpness there. Creamyness still there but less pronounced Still 3/5 and very refreshing | ★★★★★ | 5.2% |

Waken | Medium | Cloudy, dark yellow, still. Interesting blend this one, of cider and fresh apple juice. It doesn't mention whether they expect secondary fermentation but as it's flat I assume not. It certainly has that nice rich fresh apple juice nose. Interesting flavour. Apple juice is there making in bittersweet but there’s more fruitiness there. A little bit of grapefruit or Nettles or some other kind of bitter leaves.
Not actually as unpleasant as it sounds. Quite well balanced. Aftertaste is of Fresh apple juice and very nice. So the blend works I think, giving it a much more raw apple flavour than normal ciders. Very nice. Probably not a session cider despite the strength as drinking that much fresh apple juice could get a bit sticky, but it is good. Possibly a breakfast cider :-). Also only comes in 330ml bottles which is a shame.

Unity | Medium | Pear, Nettle & Elderflower cider... Light yellow, cloudy, flat. Nose wise, yes you get a slight pear smell, but it's mainly that herby herby nettle and elderflower smell. Ooh interesting taste, that mixed nettle & elderflower works well, the nettle and elderflower balancing out well.
The herbs do drown out the pear with the Elderflower dominating, but it needs it, nettle itself is quite bitter. The combination gives it a fresh herbal and floral taste.
Sharp and refreshing on the tongue with a slight citrus tone, you can almost imagine yourself being slightly stung by the nettle but not at all in a bad way. Medium sweet certainly, and quite refreshing, not the sweet and sickly taste of normal elderflower. Only comes in small 330ml bottles which is a shame. Don’t think I’d order more but would certainly drink again. Interesting and a good herbal cider. | ★★★★★ | 4% |

Pear | Medium | Pale yellow, slight haze, flat. Not a huge pear nose but a slight mint sauce smell, not unpleasant. Slightly tart with a little bit of pear in there but not much, again I got some of that slight mint sauce undertone. Not a huge aftertaste, but quite mouth watering though. Quite good, but not exactly easy drinking because of the tartness for me. 2/5 to my taste but others may like it if you like the slightly tart ciders. | ★★★★★ | 6% |

Copia | Dry | Copper colour, clear and sparkling Herby nose mainly of nettle to me with only a slight amount of fresh apple in the background. There must be a better way of describing that, but I've not found it yet. Very dry, nettle flavour with lots of tannin that clings to the teeth. Different. Very little traditional cider taste, that herbal flavour overpowers it. The tannin does eventually leave nice mouth watering feel. Not to my taste I admit but not unpleasant and interesting. Comes in small bottles so it's not a huge waste if you don't like it. | ★★★★★ | 6.5% |

Discovery | Medium | Slight hazy, straw coloured and flat from cask Straight fresh eating apple nose with a slight tartness Flavour is a lot more mild than the nose suggests. Lots of fresh eating apple taste. Little or no tannin. Very mellow and no sharpness. Very slight soapyness if you roll it round your tongue so don’t do that because if you drink it normally then it’s a nice smooth refreshing cider. | ★★★★★ | 5% |

Gala | Dry | Light golden colour, clear and flat. Interesting nose, not a conventional apple smell. A little bit apple cake like, bit of honey. very nice. The flavour though... That nose comes round to the flavour, which is initially very dry, with not much fruit at all, a little bit of honey perhaps.
Stays very dry and no real flavour develops. Lots of tannin, but ends up being quite astringent. Can't say I like this one at all. It's just too strange for me and not enough fruit. Strangely it's been awarded gold and silver medals by CAMRA so some people must like it. | ★★★★★ | 6.5% |

Russet | Dry | Dark golden almost copper colour, clear and still. Deep earthy nose, very much sherry like, very nice. Very thick rich dry flavour again lots of sherry but with the fermented apple in there. Quite dry initially with a bit of tannin, but settles to buttery medium feel.
Long lingering sherry/apple aftertaste with hints of vanilla in there. Leaves a nice juicy feel in the mouth but slightly puckering at the end crying out for another sip. Very much one to be had with food or to be savoured and very nice indeed. | ★★★★★ | 8% |

Granny Smith | Dry | Golden clear flat Sharp clean nose with a hint of pear drop esters Flavour is very different from a normal cider. Granny Smith certainly with a good sharpness to it. Fair amount of tannin but not over dry, in fact the aftertaste has a nice residual sweetness. A very decent dry cider this one with a very unusual flavour Well worth checking out. | ★★★★★ | 5.2% |

Sparkling Rhubarb | Sweet | Golden, slight haze and sparkling. Big raw rhubarb nose. Smells like you’ve just been chopping it up and started stewing it. Cracking. Oh lovely rhubarb flavour and different from most of the rhubarb ciders I've tried. Lots of cooked rhubarb but balanced out with a bit of the tartness of raw rhubarb. It has a big hit of vanilla and the slightest touch of apple in the background. Rhubarb pie in a bottle but without the sugar. Brilliant balance between the sweet and tart. Nice long vanilla rhubarb aftertaste. Listed as sweet but I didn't find it horrible and sweet at all. Without a doubt the best rhubarb cider I’ve had. You could easily drink several of these I think before you got bored. Was seriously pissed off it was a small bottle. Also had this on draught on new year's eve 2022 at the fine Waterworks Micropub in Rye (https://www.ryewaterworks.co.uk/). On draught, it's cloudy and the Rhubarb was not as strong but everything else is the same. It's still a superb 'fruit' cider and well worth trying. | ★★★★★ | 4% |

Trial batch - Sparkling Elderflower | Medium Sweet | Golden clear sparkling. Decent fresh elderflower nose. Nice well balanced elderflower flavour, not overpowering and very juicy. Has a nice depth of flavour that gives a good Buttery aftertaste where the apple flavour finally pops out. Quite drinkable as elderflower ciders go, the sparkling helps balance it out. A decent end of the evening cider to cleanse the pallet but not one to try and do a session on. Worth trying out as an elderflower cider. | ★★★★★ | 5.5% |

Trial batch - Sparkling Toffee Apple | Medium Sweet | Careful of the sediment - pour gently and leave a bit in the bottom of the bottle. Dark golden clear and lightly sparkling. The nose is totally toffee apple. Mainly caramel, but with a slight hint of brandy. A little apple. Ok the taste initially is sweet again mainly caramel, but there is subtlety there. That initial sweetness is blasted out by a sharp apple flavour again with that slight hint of oaken brandy. This cider really tingles on the tongue and I didn't find it a cloying and sickly as I expected. In fact the aftertaste (now a nice mix of caramel and apple) is quite pleasant and leaves a nice mouth wetness. I won't say I'd like more than the 330ml bottle it came in in a sitting, but as a desert cider it's actually not bad. This was a trial batch in summer 2022 so it may not be available any more, which would be a shame. This isn't a bad example of this type of flavoured cider. | ★★★★★ | 5.5% |
