Cider with Evans

Friels Cider

A little bit controversial this one as some would not classify this as 'real' cider, even though they advertise themselves as using 100% fresh apple. It is what you often get on the bar though so I've reviewed it. The same company makes Malvern Gold as well, and I must confess I do rate that one as quite drinkable.

Friels Vintage Dry

Dry

Golden clear flat

Not a huge nose but you do get that niff of a vintage cider

Nice deep ,slightly tart but slightly ever so slightly floral on the first taste. Dry refreshing without the tannin or astringency. Very refreshing and fruity aftertaste.

Good little refreshing session cider

Friels Vintage Medium Dry

Medium Dry

Straw coloured slightly hazy, small amount of residual head

Slightly yeasty fermented sweet apple nose with hints of honey

Crisp fresh apple flavour up front. Refreshing ltd of taste throughout the pint. There’s a bit of sharpness in the middle and a very long refreshing aftertaste.

Very good session cider
