Cider with Evans

Bushell + Peck cider

I don't know much about this Gloucestershire based cider makers yet but they do seem to have a wide range of traditional and single variety ciders. Interestingly they do ciders of different styles from west country to eastern counties

Fresh + Crisp

Medium Dry

Eastern Counties style.

Very light golden, almost straw coloured, clear and sparkling but with no head

Decent nose, crisp fresh apples with an ever so slight hint of pear

Quite a dry minerally start with a sharp citrussy taste up front. Quite a bit of tannin for a medium cider but there's a good depth of pulpy flavour to balance it out. Refreshing lingering aftertaste

Not a bad little cider all round. Feels a bit tannic and dry for a medium dry but I may be nit-picking as it's a nice drop if you like your ciders with tannin and sharpness.

Smooth + Subtle Perry

Medium Dry

Pale golden, clear and sparkling leaving a nice foam round the edge of the glass

Very powerful, slightly tart nose with a very strong perry pear aroma

Oh lovely. Very deep, smooth buttery perry flavour with a bit of citric sharpness which balances the deep slightly woody flavour perfectly. That citric aftertaste really fills the mouth and back of the throat during the aftertaste.

I really like this one. How can it be described as smooth and subtle I don't know as I find it right in your face. I'll have to get another bottle to see if it's a mis label, but whatever it is it's well worth a try.
