Cider with Evans

Norfolk Raider

Elder 24

Medium Sweet

Straw coloured hazy and flat.

Interesting nose. It certainly smells of 'tree' but not sure if it's elderflower. Quite a sharp nose in fact the closest I could describe it is as a vage hint of a Bloody Mary. Nice but strange.

Ok again not a full flowery elderflower flavour, that I recognise anyway, but very nice indeed. It's smooth, slightly flowery with no tannin. Not a huge apple flavour but there is some sweet fruit especially later on in the flavour curve. Quite a short flavour burst but it does leave a nice refreshing flavour in the mouth.

You could easily drink several of these as long as you're ok with medium sweet, it's not at all sickly sweet.

Gator 24 - Rhubarb and Ginger

Medium Dry

Pinky Golden and Hazy, big head but settles quickly.

Lots of fruit in the nose with a bit of rhubarb. The ginger is there as well.

Very nice and smooth to drink. Good initial hit of ginger and then smoothness of rhubarb. Not sweet and sickly at all just a hint of brown sugar. Would be nice to get more.

Light golden, slight haze, very slightly sparkling.

Big deep ripe apple nose with a decent amount of wood and slightly yeasty tone, but nothing unpleasant.

Lot of reviews say this lacks flavour but I don't get that at all.

Nice smooth apple flesh initial flavour with a small amount of wood with a bittersweet tang with a small amount of acidity to balance things out. Reminds me of a smooth Calvados a bit. No tannin and a slight woodiness continues to a nice fresh aftertaste. Again nothing unpleasant and leaves a nice refreshing taste in the mouth.

Perfectly good refreshing strongish session cider.
