Lots of sediment in this one – I'd leave it to settle if I were you. Golden, still and slightly hazy after settling and flat. Mellow smell of well fermented apple pulp with a touch of yeast and phenols Dabinett taste obviously. Fairly rich smooth apple flavour and slightly floral, Bittersweet tone, as in you get that bitter feel and catch in the throat but you get the sweetness at the same time. Medium tannin with a slight tartness. Overall fairly well balanced for a single variety. Decent aftertaste that grabs the back of the throat nicely leaving a refreshed mouth feel. Says sweet on the bottle but I’d put it much more towards the medium end and with the tannins many would call it drier than that. That is not a bad cider at all and you’d have a couple of pints of that no problem if not more. Much easier to drink than many Dabinett single varieties I’ve tried. |
