Cromwell Cider

One of the local cider makers for me here in Cambridge

Oliver's Last Gasp

Dry

Light golden clear and flat.

Quite yeasty farmyard cider nose. Very powerful when you first open, let it breath for 5 mins and it dissipates.

Ooh very complex flavour. Where do you start? Initial hit is slightly herbal, nettle possibly, sharp, slightly sour dry and quite tannic. It mellows swiftly and the crisp dry green apple flavour comes through. You then go into a nice mouth watering aftertaste. It stays dry all the way through and with quite a lot of Tannin. Little bit of a sour grip in the back of the throat.

Very good little dry cider that one.

Oliver's Choice

Medium

Light golden, clear and flat

Lots of yeast initially but when that burns off you get a quite pleasant tart sour apple nose

Light tartness in the rich bittesharp flavour. Typical eastern style cider with that sharpness of eating apples. Shortish aftertaste and leaves a bit of fur on the teeth.

Not bad but the sharpness makes it hard to drink more than one unless you’re really into that. May be really nice chilled on a cold day
